Everything the first 2 reviewers stated is so very, very true. The only comments I can add are superlatives to what has already been written.Garden Eden : Masterpieces of Botanical Book Illustration

This book is really chock full of inspirational art! Out of the 144 pages, a large majority are illustrations, but there is just enough text to make it useful. When I first bought the book and went through it, I was not drawing or painting flowers yet, and therefore did not find the lessons and tips useful. It was not till I started trying to paint flowers that I could fully appreciate the book for what it had — practical exercises and excellent guidance! It’s a book I can recommend to budding botanical illustrators.

Overall, the book was very well organized with alot of high quality botanical illustrations to look at. It broke down the process of painting a couple of them, but as far as all of the remaining ones, it was somewhat lacking. If I wanted to buy a photo album of botanical prints, I could have looked elsewhere. In addition, it wasnt really clear as to who had painted which illustrations throughout the book, was it the authors or was it some of their students? Some references on this would have been nice in order to conduct research on artists.
