Very precise, beautiful colorations. A great addition to my artist’s reference library.

Siriol Sherlock’s book shares techniques that can make painting more joyful!
Having painted for a few years, I know she demonstrates tips about leaf painting,
white and yellow flower painting, and those difficult details we all find daunting.
Her work so inspired this reader, that I pulled out my paints and tried her ideas
for myself The book is beautifully illustrated with her own work!Botanical Illustration: Painting with Watercolours

I excepted to learn to do detail paintings of flowers, but this book failed to teach me anything different from any basic watercolor book. I was interested in learning how to create the tiny details, but there was no steps of pictures how to create those details that make the painting. The book will tell you how to paint the pictures but not show you how. Unless you know what they are talking about you will be lost. The history in the book is great but other than that it was not helpful.

This is a great book but it is the paperback version of ISBN 071348862X. The picture on the cover is different, but otherwise it is the same book.
I read a review which indicated this was a new book by Siriol Sherlock and was very disappointed.

This is a first class book. There are clear illustrations on various aspects of the art and several projects that can be followed. I would recommend this book to a non-beginner as I am sure that if you had no experience the techniques she uses would be a little daunting.
