This treasure of wit and wisdom is worth having whether you use it to enhance a sermon or public address, or just allow the small spiritual nuggets to enrich your own life. The author was a lovely, very funny, much loved pastor who completely captured the hearts and minds of his parishes.
His gift is shared in his book.

This book has an almost endless supply of stories and illustrations that I have used to great effect in preaching. The material is well organized, so that it is fairly easy to find something appropriate for a great variety of subjects. Some topics are better developed than others, but of course one book will never be enough for frequent preaching.

This book contains 100’s of stories and quotes from the famous and the anonymous and is well-organized by topic. I have several such books but find what I need most often from this one. I use the illustrations for preaching.
