A key to good presentations at church is to not cram too much info onto a map or timeline. The maps in this book are crisp and contain the succinct info needed. They’re black and white, so don’t expect to WOW the class. But you can get your point across easily with these maps. The timelines were too simplistic for my use. They are geared more toward Sunday School or early confirmation. However, if you just want to set the boundaries of the time and people without more details, then the timelines will be sufficient. The text explaining the illustrations is excellent and written for you and me rather than some more sophisticated audience.

If you teach others, you need this book! Ditto everything the other reviewers have said. The companion book “What the Bible is all about for Young Explorers” is essential too!

I’ve been using the maps and timelines from this book with my women’s Sunday School class. They love knowing the context and history surrounding our weekly lessons.

This book purports to include all the charts from the NIV Study Bible, but it does not. It leaves out the chart of Biblical covanents, for instance. Also, the table of contents in incomplete. The book has the parables and the miracles of Jesus, as well as many maps, but does not list them or give page numbers. You have to thumb through the book to find them. What it does have is good, but the omissions and lack of easy access to the material make it harder to use than it should be.
